Worldwide IPR, your questions answered
What is the difference between PCT, Madrid and Hague?
They are three separate international systems: the PCT is for patents, the Madrid Protocol is for trademarks, and the Hague System is for industrial designs. Each lets you start protection in many countries through a single application instead of filing separately in each one.
Can Soni & Soni act as the Indian agent for an overseas associate?
Yes. We regularly act as Indian counsel for foreign law firms and their clients, handling PCT national-phase entry, trademark and design filings, prosecution, oppositions and renewals in India, and reporting in the format you prefer.
We're an Indian startup, how do we file abroad?
We assess your priority markets and budget, then file via the appropriate route (PCT, Madrid, Hague or direct national filings) and coordinate trusted foreign agents where local representation is required.
How long do I have to enter the national phase after a PCT filing?
In most countries you have 30 or 31 months from your earliest priority date to enter the national phase. We track these deadlines for you and confirm the exact window for each country in your plan.
Do you handle IP valuation and audits for cross-border deals?
Yes. We provide IP audits and valuations to support assignments, licensing, fundraising and due diligence, so the value of your portfolio is properly documented before any transaction.
How quickly will I get a plan and fee estimate?
We reply to every enquiry within one business day with the next steps and a clear, fixed-fee plan, no hourly mystery.
